Unfortunately, I was not able to put Tea Tree Oil on my neck...that I remember, maybe I did. I was kind of in a rush so I think I didn't. But it seems like if I was taking pictures of my neck I would have put Tea Tree oil on as well. But I think I was coming back to do it....anyway, I'm going to say I forgot to do it this morning but I am not 100% sure. My neck pain is completely gone on the keloid side. There is still minor build up of puss under the skin. I can feel it. But it is much, much smaller that it was before. The minor build up on the non-keloid side is down as well, pretty much gone. This makes me happy. To me the keloid kind of looks like it's fading in color. More of a light pink than the darker color it has been. Maybe that's just me being hopeful though.

Tuesday February 21, 2012 Day 4
I haven't been able to post directly after taking pictures due to the fact I worked this day. The time that the Tea Tree Oil was applied was around 7:30 am. The usual process taken. As you can see the puss is still draining. A side note would be that it's not coming directly from the keloid, but around the piercing if that makes since. The build up could be the result of the keloid. I'm not 100% positive. I can feel the build up. The pain is down by a lot more. Barley noticeable. The non keloid side seems to still be draining as well, though that's not really the problem side

Monday February 20, 2012 Day 3
7:35 am
This morning my neck felt crusty and dry. I cleared some of the crust before I started to take pictures and both sides started to drain. Which was good. You can see the drainage from the keloid side of piercing in the pictures. I was glad to see that the keloid side is draining. My neck is still in pain from the build up though. Hopefully that will go away in a couple of days.
I couldn't decide which ones to use so I put up three.
To me it looks red again around the piercing (not including the keloid) and it looks dry. It looks different from yesterday morning. I am starting to wonder if multiple applications so close together is not a good idea. The Tea tree oil could be fore to help dry the keloid out and having the applications so close together prevents that and keeps the area moist. I am going to space application times. Maybe limit to 3 times a day. When I get up, mid day, and when i go to bed. I don't see any major difference in length of the keloid, but in girth it does seem a bit smaller. But maybe that's just wishful thinking.
Application Time of the Tea Tree Oil
- 7:35 am - 1st application. Washed hands. Used a q-tip to put tea tree oil around the piercing and the keloid. Also used fingers to put the tea tree oil on keloid.
- 12:18 pm - 2nd application.Washed hands used fingers to put it around piercing and keloid.
- 10:40 pm - 3rd application. Before I put on the Tea Tree oil, the right side (side without the keloid) was pretty crusty. More so than the side with the keloid (left) The keloid side seems to be draining more. Which is good. I think I am noticing pain less. I can bend my head down without my neck hurting and turning side to side is pretty fine as well. Bending my head backwards is when I feel it the most but no where near the pain where it was before. Which is good. Seems to be a good sign. Keloid seems to be looking the same as before. Maybe after all the puss is gone the keloid will go down.
Before I take a shower I notice white on my neck. I took a couple of pictures to find the piercing to be pretty dry. This is around 12:00 pm

Sundsay February 19, 2012 Day 2
8:25 am
Both sides of the piercing look crusty this morning. Nothing out of the ordinary really. I feel like the keloid looks about the same. I also feel the redness that appeared around the piercing (not including the keloid) has gone down from yesterday. The Tea Tree Oil may be irritating the skin from the constant application process. The skin didn’t feel dry this morning. It felt rather soft. It may be the consistency of the Tea Tree Oil that makes the skin feel dry.

Side note
Since day one(and a couple days before), there is a major puss built up on the left side of the piercing (side with the keloid) if some one was to really look at it you can tell that the keloid side is raised a little bit. My neck is still in pain from the build up on that side. If I lower my neck far enough it hurts and if I bring my head back it hurts. Minor pain when I turn side to side and of course it hurts when pressure it put on it I’m hoping once the keloid gets smaller the left side will have an easier time to drain.
Tea Tree Oil Application Time Day 2
- 8:25 am - 1st Application. Same application process as the day before. Washed hands and applied with fingers. I am considering using a q-tip to see if soaking the keloid would better than just putting it on with my fingers. Maybe the wetness of the q-tip will help get it inside the piercing and help it heal faster.
- 11:15 am - 2nd application. A little bit over 2 hours. Took a shower so it messed with the time a bit. Changed the application process this time. Washed hands and used a q-tip to put to Tea Tree Oil on. Seems to be a better idea because it's easier to get it all around the piercing along with the keloid. I'm thinking if it gets inside the piercing then it will help it heal up faster.

Friday February 18, 2012 Day 1
I have had a bump on one side of my nape piercing for over a year now. I had recently, for about a month, tried using H2Ocean thinking it was just an infection. While I was reading the instructions/information packet that came with the H2Ocean it mentioned keloid scaring, which I considered the bump could be, but really didn’t look too far in it. With little results from the H2Ocean I have decided to further look into keloid scaring. I came across a video that had suggestions to take care of keloids.

“Keloids are overgrowths of tissue around a piercing that can be treated with tea tree oil or an aspirin solution.”
After I found this video I looked up to see if there were any other videos with people that had keloid scars. When I came across another video.

This girl has a cheek keloid and I feel it looks very similar to my neck. She had decided to use tea tree oil and that is what I have decided to try as well. I don't know how long it took for her keloid to heal, but the first video said it should take a couple of days to see results.
This is the Tea Tree Oil I bought from Kroger. It was $8.47. which isn't a too bad of a price.
This is my neck before I applied the tea tree oil. At this point the keloid is painful which is what drove me to find a way to get rid of this bump. My piercing is leaking a bit too which is why the other side is crusty.
At 1:35 I applied tea tree oil on both sides of nape piercing with washed hands. Using my fingers to apply. Only the left side has a keloid but I applied to both sides anyway.

This is my neck maybe about 10 minutes after without the flash. I wanted to see if I could get a better picture of it. The skin looks hydrated because of the oil. I am thinking I am going to put the oil on every 2 hours.
Time Log When Tea Tree Oil Was Applied During The Day
Time Log When Tea Tree Oil Was Applied During The Day
- 3:41 - 2nd application. A little over 2 hours after first application of the Tea Tree Oil. Same application process as before. My neck is still in a bit of pain. I want to say it hurts more but I can not say for sure.
- 6:11 - 3rd application. A little over 2 hours again. I was napping but it was put on. My neck is still in pain. I would say it feels about the same. It looks more red around the piercing.
- 7:31 - 4th application. Same application process. Feels a little dry. Not sure if it's because of the Tea Tree Oil. Still Hurts. Right side (The Side without the keloid) seems to leak a bit every application process. Which is good. It's good to get the puss out.
- 9:51 - 5th application. Same application process. Still feels a little dry. I feel there is liquid still in both sides of the piercing. Thinking puss. Which makes me think the bump is an infection. Maybe because of the bump it has trouble draining. Not sure. Going to still go through with the Tea Tree Oil to see if it helps.
- 11:40 - 6th application. Same Application process. Still feels a little dry. There is redness around the left side of piercing (keloid side) and the bump. Seems to be minor burning after a few minutes after the initial application. Not for long and not that bad.
